Six non -profit Wilkes get $ 30,000 each
NC Community Foundation (NCCF) has awarded $ 3 million from its disaster aid fund through affiliation foundations to almost 100 non -profit in 18 counties, including six organizations in Wilkes.
Grants of $ 30,000 each were awarded through the Wilkes County Foundation, an affiliate of the NCCF, at Blue Ridge Opportunity Commission, BREADY MOUNTAIN BAPTIST ASSOCIATION’S HOPE Ministries, Samaritan’s Kitchen of Wilkes, Wilkes Community Partnership for Children, Wilkes Recove Revolution and Wilkes Youth Life Development.
The Wilkes Foundation and another 12 NCCF affiliates granted each $ 180,000 and four affiliates granted 75,000 USD per piece. A NCCF press release said that the federal storm impact data were used to determine if an affiliate has granted USD 180,000 or $ 75,000.
The subsidies were recommended by the consultative councils of the 18 foundations of the affiliate county and by the Qualla border of the East of Cherokee, with an objective of providing flexible funding to address long -term recovery, resistance and unsatisfied needs. The statement said that this was the first round of subsidies granted through the Western branches of the NCCF.
In the joined counties Wilkes:
• The Alleghany County Community Foundation granted $ 25,000 to Alleghany Sparta Trail Association, the Cherry Lane Fire Department, the Glade Creek Fire Department, the Laurel Springs Fire Department, the Piney Creek Fire Department and the Sparta Fire Department and a USD subsidy for Allehany team;
• Ashe County Community Foundation has awarded $ 25,000 to each project Ashe County Advantage, Greater Lansing Area Development, New River preservative, Lansing’s Bridge to Recovery, Ashe County Recovery and Care Network and 30,000 USD at Habitat of Ashe County for Humanity;
• Catawba Valley community Foundation, which serves Alexander, Caldwell and Catawba counties, has given $ 100,000 at the United Way of Caldwell County; $ 30,000 to a strong life; 35,000 USD to the Christian Crisis Center; $ 25,000 each for Collettsville Fire and Rescue, Conver Community Partners, Hickory Pomple Department, Legal AID of NC and WNC communities; and $ 50,000 each to Alexander County Emergency Management, Alexander and EMS county rescue team, Emergency Services in Caldwell County, Emergency Management of Catawba County and Creatist Ministry of Cooperative Hickory Hickory;
• Mount Ary/Surry County Community Foundation has given $ 15,000 to each Dobson rescue team, Elkin emergency rescue team, Mountain Park Rescue Squad, Mount Ary Rescue Squad and pilot Mountain Rescue and EMS;
• The Watauga County Community Foundation granted $ 25,000 each at the State Line Resource Center and Quiet Girs and $ 26,000 each at hunger and health coalition, Mountain True, Hospitality House, Wamy Community Action and the Immigrants’ connection in the high country. He granted $ 75,000 for Magify Ministries.
If an organization cannot receive a subsidy, the affiliate will choose another charitable or governmental organization to receive the prize.
Including subsidies made by its affiliates, NCCF has allocated $ 6.75 million from the disaster rescue fund. NCCF has hired $ 250,000 from the background to support the disaster and resistance scholarship for students facing financial tasks due to Helene.
